Tip of the Week

When in situations when talking a cell phone isn’t an option, text messaging is ideal. With text messaging a user can send a written message (containing up to around 150 characters) to the person they are trying to reach. A text message may contain a private message is better not spoken aloud or can merely get information to a person without interrupting something they are doing with a phone call. In other words, text messaging is convenient for times when spoken conversation is not.

Different types of text messaging features are available with different types of cell phones. Many mobile phones have the ability to send preset messages (convenient for those who don’t like to type) and some have the capabilities to send pictures and graphics.

The more advanced text messaging options include digital photos, video, music, or multi-media to be sent within the message. Text messaging is similar to email but made for a phone and it can be sent to anyone with a wireless phone (regardless of the carrier). It is a great way to keep minutes usage down as well. With this many options text messaging is a easy and fun!
