Tip of the Week

Many of the cell phones available today have data services compatibility. This means that they offer many more services than merely making phone calls. Many mobile phones have the ability to access the Internet, send emails, access webmail, upload digital photos, text message, download games and ringers, offer wireless calendars, and much more! These features are extremely helpful when a person is unable to be at their computer to access many of these things.

Rather than missing important incoming emails, the user can check email online as well as send emails from his or her phone. Internet access is also just a button away with instant Internet access. Of course, the browsers are limited according to the phone used but they work well enough to get the job done and consumers can even place bids and receive alerts from Ebay and much more.

If the user is afraid of using up minutes talking to friends and family, they can use any of the top instant messaging services to chat live and not use up paid minutes.

Other quick talk features include: text messaging, ready link, digital video, and digital photo. Depending on the carrier, the text messaging can be paid for on a per message basis, an allotment of messages per month, or unlimited text messaging. Ready link is great for getting in touch with someone immediately and this feature is particularly appealing to businesses as the phone not only places regular calls but essentially serves as a walkie talkie as well. However, ready link only works with mobile phones under the same carrier and with phones also equipped with the ready link feature.

The most popular features users are jumping on the bandwagon for are digital video and photo uploads. Many phones can record video and send it to other users or upload images for viewing on the Internet. Digital camera options are also available on many phones. So, now cellular phones are not just phones, but mini-computers that can keep users networking all the time with numerous bells and whistles. If the user is interested in any of these features, they may need to upgrade their phone or but, if their phone is capable, they might only need to sign up for the necessary service with their carrier. Package rates that are all inclusive average about $20 per month for unlimited access to everything and many carriers include a certain number of free downloads for ringers and games. This is a deal that cannot be beat!
